Our First Annual Xiwai's Got Talent Show

2021-06-10

Our first annual XIWAI’S GOT TALENT show was performed live on June 3rd by Xiwai International Middle and High School students. The entire show will be broadcast in the next couple weeks on WeChat Live. Details of the broadcast will be posted soon! It’s must see TV!

With over 175 performers singing, dancing, acting, live bands, models, and reading of original poems, the event was not only a talent show, but a tribute to 100 years of Communism.

Each of the performers dedicated lots of their time to take their segments to a very high level and represented Xiwai in the highest order. Many rehearsals with the band paid off as they all performed flawlessly making everything sound great and look natural and easy. The emcee’s all kept the show flowing nicely with enthusiastic introductions and the entire event was filled with awe and excitement. Surely, a few new "Stars were Born!"

Xiwai owes a very big thank you to our Middle School PTA for sponsoring the event. We are forever grateful to them for all that they have done! In addition to all the performers, every student and teacher received a cap commemorating 100 years of Communism and a national flag.

As with any big event there are a number of people to thank. A big thank you goes out to our principal Dr. Lin for his guidance and belief in our projects.

To Steven Herring and Dean Wang as our middle school coordinators, as without their continued support on these boundary breaking ideas, none of this is possible. Thank you for taking the chance on this. To Mr E, who’s relentless help lead by example overcoming any challenge. To Enrico Piccinini, the principal of both middle and high school, to Monika Pan for their support for continued expansion of our fine arts department. To ALL the great performers who worked so hard to take this serious and rise above expectations and to all of their teachers for supporting the students to allow them all the rehearsal time needed. The support of all of the teachers is crucial to an event such as this and to our international middle school fine arts director, Matthew Della Polla who directed and produced the show. He, along with his organization, “The Xiwai Creative Arts Group” are trying to take the international fine arts and special events departments to a new level with events such as these.
