On Oct 11th, Ross Jennings, the headmaster of Green River College, a school with an open atmosphere, gave the students of the international department a wonderful speech. At 9:00, all the students of Grade 10 and Grade 11 hopefully waited for the speech in the meeting room.
As a warm-up, Dr. Ross asked students some questions to know the basic information of students. Firstly, he gave us an introduction to the Green River School and school projects. Then, to improve our understanding, he also gave us two examples of successful students. Next, using these two examples, Dr. Ross told us that many Chinese students in Green River College did pretty well, better than other countries’ students. In the end, he gave us a suggestion that we should work hard to get good grades and also encouraged us to be confident and friendly. In addition, as a foreign teacher, he said that International students will confront many difficulties when they go aboard, such as “culture shock”. Dr. Ross promised us the teachers there will help us when we meet these problems.
I think most of the students are interested in Green River College and will choose it to study in the coming years.
