秋风送暖，“学生会”伴我成长

微微的风徐徐吹来，裹挟着秋的芳香，陈述着一年的辉煌。
新的一学年，我们的大家庭又注入了新的血液。西外也好像张开了双臂般迎接着新同学们的到来。2016年9月21日，高一西外学子与高二高三的学长们在秋风送暖的午后齐聚在报告厅，一起感受了一场与梦的时空交错。没错，这就是一年一度的学生会&根与芽精选。
学生会和根与芽是西外最被众人知晓的、在校领导指导下开展工作的学生组织。它以“自我教育，自我管理，自我服务”为指导方针，以全心全意为同学服务为宗旨，以团结同学倡导和谐文明的校园文化为目标。根与芽是国际性的环保项目，旨在推动不同文化之间的互动，以及促进全社会对环境的关注和对他人的关爱。它主要的活动形式是开展社区公益活动和环保教育项目。它于1991年初创立于坦桑尼亚，随后在全球范围内蓬勃发展，获得广泛的认可。
此外，根与芽对参与此项活动的孩子们都产生了积极的影响。从学前班到大学，各年龄层的学生都加入了根与芽的行列。成员来自世界75个国家。每年，不仅是在全球，西外也一直开展各类环保性公益活动。在每年的4月和7月，我们会组织一些根与芽的成员远赴内蒙库伦旗一起保护大自然，就在那里，还特意成立了一块西外专属的牌子。所以说根与芽里不仅有全校各年级的精英人才，更有发挥才能施展才华的大舞台。
本次竞选活动给我的感受颇多，尤其是这届高一新生，可谓“初生牛犊不怕虎”。他们对每个社团和组织都很感兴趣，充分地做了各项准备，跃跃欲试，在全体高中国际部师生面前展示自己。无论是口才、还是表演，都让我为之“竞折腰”。看着台上一张张灿烂的面孔，我突然想起来毛主席的一句诗来：数风流人物，还看今朝！我来西外已经有近2年的时间了，在这期间，在西外里，我参加了很多活动，学到了很多的知识，遇见了很多老师同学。所有种种，令我印象最深的就是西外一直秉持着“求真、树人、厚德”的校训。如今，西外已创办十年之久， 一年又一年，变化着的是学生、是老师、是校园环境……而不变的，是他办学的初心和对教育的款款深情。关注每一个学生的发展，这也是西外学生会存在的真正意义。
我相信即将加盟学生会的新鲜血液，会让西外学生组织更具活力与激情！相信西外提供的大舞台，能让莘莘学子能够激发出更大的人生潜能！此次竞选活动，既给同学们提供了展示自我的舞台，又进一步调动了学生参与学校日常管理的积极性。学生会新成员的产生必将为我校学生的各项发展注入新的活力，进而推动我校各项工作的顺利进行。
西外，求真、树人、厚德。西外，我相信在将来的各种活动能够越办越好，越办越精彩。
As the fall wind blows gently with autumn fragrance, states a year of brilliance and glory. With beginning of the new school year, our family has welcomed new students. A warm afternoon on September 21st 2016, West high school middle school students and the seniors gathered in the school hall, a feeling a dream and staggered time. Yes, this is once a year of Students & Roots and Shoots selection.
The student union and the roots and shoots is the XiWai most known organization. It is to carry out the work in the leadership of the school under the guidance of the student organization. The Roots and Shoots is an international environmental protection project, aimed at promoting the interaction between different cultures, and promote the whole society to concern for the environment and care for others. Its main activities are to carry out community activities and environmental education programs. Annually in the month of April and July, we will organize some Roots and Shoots members to go to Inner Mongolia's Kulun, with the protection of nature, there is a specially established XiWai exclusive brand. So here are the elites of all grade levels and it is also a stage for these students to thrive to their highest potential.
One of most significant feeling that this year’s campaign has brought is that the fact that the sophomores are generally weaker in performance compared to the freshman whether it is public speaking or performing in all aspects. I have been in XIWAI for 2 years, during this period, I participated in many activities, learned much knowledge, met a lot of teachers and students. My deepest impression is that the West has been upholding the "VERITAS, NUTRIO, VIRTUS" motto. Paying attention to each student's development is ultimate goal of the XIWAI students there.
West has been founded for 10 years, as the years have gone by, the school also made dramatic changes. I believe that the students will soon join the fresh blood, will make the XIWAI and the student organizations more dynamic and filled with passion!
Outside of XIWAI, Truth, Nurture, Virtue, I believe all of the school’s future activities will be able to develop in to a high level.
