Creating Space in Meditation and Yoga
This month we are starting a yoga and meditation program here at Xiwai International Primary School that will take place every Wednesday during recess. This program will be taught by Ms. Charli, one of our grade one teachers. She studied yoga and meditation in the Bahamas where she received her 200-hour teaching certificate. This effective program will provide further integration of the western culture at the school, while additionally providing the students with a unique opportunity to reflect on their day. The practice of yoga can not only increase flexibility and confidence, but it can also give students an outlet from their educational stress. The classes also aim to teach valuable life skills, such as discipline, and help maintain concentration throughout the working day.
