不一样的家长会

       上个星期五，高中国际课程部期中家长会顺利举行。这是一场极具特色的家长会。所有家长和教师聚集在图书馆一楼创新实验室内，一起畅谈孩子的学习。

      Last Friday, May 12th, the International High School Division held its mid-semester Parent-Teacher Conference in the Innovation Lab. 

      The event was an opportunity for parents to speak with their teenagers’ homeroom and subject teachers face-to-face in a friendly, relaxed setting. Each subject area had a dedicated booth where parents could sit down and chat with teachers and see examples of the work students had done. With students’ performances from their Drama and TV Production classes playing on a big screen and soothing music in the background, the event had a more casual, festive air than previous meetings. At the same time, parents were able to get much more detailed information and feedback than before – especially from foreign teachers, who took the lead in organizing and running the conference.

      Friday also saw a preliminary meeting of the High School’s new Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), which will officially launch next semester. The PTA is an ideal platform for parents to get more involved in school life and support the work of the school in meaningful, constructive ways. Principal Enrico Piccinini met privately with interested parents on Friday to explain how the PTA would work and discuss possible ways for parents to help. In the coming weeks, we will continue to recruit parents for next year’s PTA, and Enrico will host a follow-up meeting in June.

      5月12日星期五，高中国际课程部在创新实验室成功举办了期中家长会。本次会议让家长们在友好而轻松的氛围中，直接与班主任及任课教师面对面对话。每一门课程都设有精致的展位，家长们可以坐在展位里与教师交流，并观看学生们这门课程的学习成果。在舒缓的背景音乐中，大屏幕上循环播放着学生们戏剧表演和电视制作的成果。相较于之前的会议，本次会议的气氛更为休闲，更具节日氛围。同时，家长们也能够得到比以前更详细的信息和反馈--尤其是来自于主持本次会议的外籍教师们所提供的信息。

      此外，星期五还举办了全新的高中家长教师协会（PTA）的初步会议，该协会将于下学期正式启动。PTA作为一个理想的平台，通过独具意义的、更具建设性的方式让家长更多地参与学校的活动并支持学校的工作。外方校长Enrico Piccinini在星期五还特别会见了对PTA有兴趣的家长们，解释PTA如何运作，并且讨论了家长们参与PTA的有效途径。在未来几周内，我们将继续为明年的家长教师协会招募更多的家长，Enrico也将于六月主持后续会议。
