上个礼拜,西外高中国际课程部Drama课外教Carlos携学生一起为全体师生送上了一份特别的、丰厚的喜剧大餐。他们的“夸张式幽默”重新诠释了经典,赢得满堂喝彩。
外教Carlos :
This year, I selected 3 short one act plays to have the students perform for their final grade; 25 minutes of Romeo and Juliet, The dead superhero guy and Cyril Big nose. The pieces were all in the same style of theatricality of the school of “overacting”. These pieces laid a foundation of understanding the need to convey emotions and gestures in more controlled measures.


Overacting is a style that requires an understanding of the feelings portrayed and the ability to exaggerate them in a grandiose manner through gestures and intonations or just silly movements that lend the play a certain comedic feeling. Needless to say, our students did a wonderful job in the selection of actors all the way through to their choices in sound and music. The scene background itself was essentially the same with very few changes that made it easier to navigate the never ending scene changes throughout all three plays. From the tragic death of a great superhero to the kiss of our hero of words (Cyril), the students presented themselves in the best light possible for teenagers, OVERACTING.


While the style of overacting is largely a dead style, it nonetheless emphasizes the need to be able to control our emotions and physical movements by understanding the need of the play. And, well let’s face it; we all tend to overact at times!


We practiced for three to four weeks and practiced many ways to make our show unique. Drama ensemble work is a collaborative effort where all ideas can be expressed and used in the show. Many of the movement created by students were created by themselves or created through surprises and playing around.

I am extremely proud of our show and the work that our students have done and committed to do.

话剧演出小结(Carlos)
今年,我挑选了3个短独幕剧,让学生们作为他们的期末汇报演出:25分钟的罗密欧和朱丽叶,死去的超级英雄和Cyril大鼻子。这些作品都拥有相同的风格:学院风和戏剧化的“夸张反应”。这些作品说明了,要以更可控的方式来传达情感和姿态来理解戏剧。
夸张是一种风格,需要了解和描绘感情,需要用手势、语调或尽可能夸张的动作达到一定的喜剧感。很显然,从挑选演员到选择音乐方面,我们的学生都很出色地完成了这项工作。场景背景本身基本上是相同的,很少变化。但通过这三个独幕剧,使人更容易注意到永无止境的场景变化。从超级英雄的悲剧性死亡到我们的英雄Cyril之吻,学生们都很好地展现了他们作为青少年的特点----夸张。
很大程度上,夸张风格是一个死板的风格,但它强调戏剧的需求时,我们要能够控制我们的情绪和身体动作。那么,让我们面对它吧:因为我们有时候就很夸张啊!
我们练习了三到四个星期,练习中使用了很多方法,这让我们的表演与众不同。戏剧的所有工作都是一种合作的努力,所有的想法都可以在表演中表达和使用。许多环节是由学生自己创造的,或者是通过无意间的玩耍创造出来的。
