千里之行，始于足下——记西外高中国际课程部崇明岛行走

Ma Yun said in a speech, "reading is like car refueling, you have to know where to go when filled." With too much oil, it’ll become a tanker. I saw many people read a lot of books, two types of them are not very successful: one is who don’t read at all, the second is who read too much .
The ancients said "Reading ten thousand books is like traveling ten thousand miles", as well as "apply what you have learned". Knowledge must be used in life.
In autumn, teachers and students from Xiwai international high school division embarked on the first CAS course in Chongming Island which was called "the gateway of Yangtze River".
The night before the CAS course, teacher Mr.Wang brought a wonderful lecture for the students. He introduced Chongming and Changxing Island. His introduction made students look forward to it. It’s a habit of CAS course in Xiwai: the school will organize a corresponding lectures before each activity. So that students could understand many aspects of knowledge in advance. In this way, CAS course is like a melting pot integrates various disciplines.
In the morning of 29th, students and teachers arrived in Changxing rural park. It has Farming, Culture, Forest conservation and Comprehensive service, Which deeply attracted the students. The fragrance of orange blowing on the students' face, and erased their fatigue according to the long-distance bus ride. Although the green oranges are not yet fully ripe, students have begun to remember the sweet taste they’ve tasted a thousand times.
The natural beauty was already intoxicating, and the innovative ideas made students even more dawned. Under the guidance of guide, students visited the Iron Man Art gallery, and experienced the process that waste iron and steel changed to art. The power of innovation have got infinite liberation here. These gains will bring a lot of inspiration for students in the future.
The coral Museum in the park is the most distinctive exhibition of coral creatures in Shanghai. Students could learn the professional knowledge of coral and ocean unconsciously, and feel the infinite charm of nature.
"Knowledge learned from paper is shallow, one needs to practice if he really want to learn it.” As the old saying goes, you need not only study hard at school, but also need to reflect it in your real life. At the same time, you need to walk more, practice more, enrich your vision, and apply your learning. Due to the trip to Chongming Island, students have seen the scenery, attained the practical knowledge and the spirit of innovation.

马云在一次演讲中说过，读书就像汽车加油一样，加满油你得知道去哪里。装了太多的油就变成油罐车。我看太多的人读了好多的书。两种人不太会成功：一个是不读书的人，另一个是读书太多的人。
古人曾言“读万卷书，行万里路”，又言“学以致用”。读的书学到的知识是必定要用到生活中去的。然后在生活中获取更多更新的知识。
金秋时节，西外高中国际课程部的师生带着各科老师布置的行走作业，踏上了素有“长江门户”之称的崇明岛，开始了本学期第一次行走课程。
行走课程前一晚，地理汪柱老师为学生们带来了一场精彩的讲座。他所介绍的崇明岛-长兴岛宛若天堂，让学生们未去就已经向往不已。这是西外行走课的惯例：每一次行走课程，学校都会组织相应的讲座，让学生提前了解目的地地理、经济、历史、政治、文化、风俗等各方面的知识。如此看来，行走课程更像是一个大熔炉，各学科在其中融合，共同发展。
29日一早，学生和老师抵达了长兴岛郊野公园。这个拥有橘园风采、农事体验、文化运动、森林涵养和综合服务五大功能区的公园，只一眼，就将学生深深吸引住了。沁人的橘香扑面而来，消去了学生长途坐车的疲倦。虽然青涩的橘子还未完全成熟，但学生的味蕾已经开始回忆无数次尝过的那一丝酸夹杂着一丝甜的滋味。
自然美景自是令人沉醉，但奇思妙想和创新更令学生流连忘返。在导游的带领下，同学们参观了铁哥们环保艺术博览园，领略到了废旧钢铁从垃圾到艺术的升华。一个个奇思妙想在这里开了花，创新的力量得到无限解放。这些收获定会为学生今后的学习生活带些诸多启发。
园内的珊瑚馆则是上海市最有特色的展示珊瑚生物群的博览馆，除了一饱口福，同学们在不知不觉中又学到了珊瑚和海洋的专业知识，感受到自然界的无穷魅力。
“纸上得来终觉浅，绝知此事要躬行。”我们的学生，既要努力读书，让自己才识过人，又要让自己的所学在生活中体现出来，更要多行走，多实践，增长见识，学以致用。崇明岛之行，学生看见的是风景，但收获的是“接地气”的知识，是创新精神，更是“千里之行，始于足下”的决心。
