西外国际艺术项目

近年来，有一批西外学子一直对艺术怀揣着梦想，他们在西外经过多年的努力，纷纷拿到了上海戏剧学院、上海音乐学院、上海视觉艺术学院、伯克利音乐学院、纽约视觉艺术学院、帕森斯设计学院、芝加哥艺术学院、洛杉矶音乐学院、普瑞特艺术学院、伦敦艺术大学、新加坡南阳艺术学院等一些全球知名艺术院校的录取通知，继续深造，追逐梦想。在总结和梳理以往原有艺术课程的基础上，西外将从2022年9月开始为学生提供艺术强化课程项目。该项目涵盖A-level、AP和IGCSE相关课程，专为有高水平艺术造诣的学生量身打造。学习这些艺术课程时，学生既能认真探索艺术及表演世界，又能保持高水准的GPA成绩。
该课程计划将建立一套独立的艺术课程体系，涵盖初、高中全学段至12年级。其课程目标是帮助学生进入世界顶尖艺术院校继续深造，如伦敦艺术学院、伯克利音乐学院、茱莉亚音乐学院、清华大学等。主要核心课程将包括艺术和数字艺术、多媒体视觉传达、古典音乐与流行音乐等，另外也会开设戏剧、舞蹈以及视频制作等拓展课程。明年，该项目的重点将放在艺术和音乐课程上，之后将在未来几年内发展至其他领域。
在以上这些领域拥有特殊才能的学生通常都需要额外的时间精力来发展成为世界级人才。在西外，我们将为这些学生提供一套独一无二的课程。类似于西方的表演艺术，我们的课程结合传统与时下先进前沿的艺术理念来培养学生，让他们在自由选择的众多领域中出类拔萃。
如果没有这样的课程，许多满怀艺术梦想的学生就会因无法找到时间培养今后在全球舞台上竞争所需的技能而不得不放弃心中所爱的领域。此项目所有的专业课程都会以英语作为第一语言授课，有些则以双语授课，以确保学生能够充分理解、掌握授课内容。
在 2018 年世界经济论坛上，与会专家曾谈到：“如果我们不改变我们的教育方式， 30年后我们的孩子将可能被淘汰。这就是为什么我认为我们应该教我们的孩子体育、音乐、绘画和艺术。我们教的东西都应该有别于机器。” 这个演讲告诉我们，在未来，当机器人和自动化接管了越来越多的工作时，人们更加需要学习机器人做不到的事情。

Xiwai International
Fine Arts Program
We are proud to announce that Xiwai will be launching a new Fine Arts Program starting in September 2022! This newly developed program will include IGCSE, AP, and A Level classes and will be tailored to students who have the ability and desire to excel at the fine arts. These students will be dedicated to pursuing outstanding achievement in our fine and performing arts programs while at the same time maintaining a high academic GPA.
The program will be one of a kind, offering a separate fine arts stream from Middle School all the way through Grade 12. The goal is to prepare students for admission to the best fine arts schools in the world, including University of the Arts London, Berklee, the Juilliard School, Tsinghua University, and others. Courses will include art, digital art, multimedia graphic communications, both classical and popular music programs, drama, dance and video production.
Students who have special talents in these areas need extra time to develop into world-class artists, which is why we have developed this unique program at Xiwai. Like top-performing arts schools in the West, our program will use traditional techniques combined with state-of-the-art, cutting-edge concepts to train our students to excel in the artistic areas of their choice. All program classes will be taught in English as the first language, while some will be taught bilingually to ensure that all ideas and concepts are fully understood.
As Jack Ma stated at the World Economic Forum in 2018, "If we don’t change the way we teach, we will be in big trouble 30 years from now. That’s why I think we should teach our kids, sports, music, painting, and art. Everything we teach should be different from machines." He went on to explain that robots and automation will be taking over more and more jobs in the future, and people need to learn to do what robots cannot. Children with highly developed creative minds will have the best chance for success as adults, regardless of which career path they eventually pursue.
Fine arts teaches self-discipline, self-confidence, perseverance, dedication, teamwork, meeting deadlines and a "no excuses" mindset. It also teaches students that to achieve greatness in any area, persistence and believing in yourself are key.
Our Fine Arts Program is a rigorous artistic learning system designed to ensure that each qualified candidate is well-prepared to gain admission to world class colleges, universities, and conservatories and to pursue a successful artistic career.
From Hollywood to Xiwai:
The Director of the International Fine Arts Program has excelled in every area of music production and brings world-class experience to the program. He has worked with many of the world's top international music and recording artists, such as Celine Dion, Andrea Bocelli, Barbra Streisand, Kenny G, Elton John, Michael Jackson, Rod Stewart, Michael Bolton, Charlie Puth, and Sting.
Maestro Matthew Della Polla brings an extensive list of musical accomplishments to Xiwai. He earned a Master's Degree, two Bachelor's degrees, and two Conservatory Diplomas by the age of 23. He has won 2 Latin Grammy Awards and worked on some of the biggest movies and songs while living in Hollywood. His career accomplishments include musically directing over one thousand live concerts in North America, Europe, and Asia, directing and conducting orchestras on many internationally broadcast television programs, and being the orchestral scoring consultant on hundreds of the biggest recordings in Western music. He has also worked with record companies like Sony Universal, Warner Bros. Pictures, Walt Disney Studios, 20th Century Fox, Universal Pictures, Paramount Pictures, IMAX Films, all four major American national broadcast television networks, MTV, PBS, and leading cable networks.
